Assistive Technology in Medicine - BIP

The Faculty of Health Studies of the Technical University of Liberec, together with partner universities, the University of Žilina (Slovakia) and The University of Cooperative Education in Bautzen (Germany), organise a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) on Assistive Technology in Medicine tailored for students of  Biomedical Technology and Biomedical Engineering study programmes. It is a short-term Erasmus+ mobility abroad for higher education students and staff combined with the compulsory virtual component.

Ten students from each university, thirty students in total, participate in the event. The virtual part will take place online on three consecutive Thursdays in March. Students will be introduced to the topics that they will focus on during the physical part of the BIP. The Keynote Speech will be given by the Guest Lecturer, dr. Antonia Tzemanaki from the Bristol University (United Kingdom). Among others, she is an expert on Medical Robotics.

The physical part of the BIP will take place on 8 – 12 April at the premises of Technical University of Liberec (Faculty of Health Studies, TUL lab, university laboratories) and at the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine in Prague. The students will spend five days learning and co-operating in international teams at five different workshops. The Lecturers are experts in their field from the three partner universities.

Each day, there will be a social event. The students and their professors/lecturers will learn more about interesting places in Liberec, visit the Technical Museum in Liberec, IQ Landia and can hike to the top of the Jested Mountain. Moreover, they will have an opportunity to do a bit of sightseeing in Prague or get to know each other more over dinner in one of  the Liberec restaurants.

The BIP is funded from the Erasmus+ budget.
